Encountering the Love of God NEVER leaves you the same. When you're faced with the awesome, magnificent, wonderful, unfailing, overwhelming and uncontainable AGAPE, you can't help but weep in awe of the magnitude of His love towards us. Jesus is madly, greatly, deeply, truly, expressively, totally in LOVE with you. John says that this is how we know love; it's not that we first loved God, but that He first loved us and chose to send His son as a propitiation for our sin.
His love compels Him to bless and heal and prosper and favor and sustain us as the apple of His eye. He is love. He can't help but love. He doesn't know how not to love. He's not mad at the world. He's in love with us. He loves us just the way we are but He loves us too much to leave us just as we are. He is moved with compassion every time He comes across the sick, the poor, the fatherless, the widow, the hungry, the homeless, the hurt, the dying, the down hearted, the lost and the unsaved. His heart goes out to them.
We serve a God who first reached out to us with EVERYTHING He had. An object is assigned it's value depending on how much people are willing to pay for it. Imagine how much you're worth if the God of the universe thought that you were worth no less than the life of His only Son. No one can outbid that!
It's the ultimate price, the ultimate sacrifice, the ultimate demonstration of love in return for the ultimate gift - US.
The next time you're struggling to get your prayer life back on track, to get your priorities in order, to fashion your heart after His own, know that He longs for all these things as well, so much more than you can imagine. One encounter with the Love of God and we're NEVER THE SAME!

YES, YES! Walk in His Love, swim in His Love, BE His Love. The more time I spend with Him, asking for revelation of His Love, the more freaked I am at how His Love is ALL CONSUMING. The Bible says He is an all-consuming fire. He created us -- wanted a family to fellowship with – because His Love needed an outlet—someone to love. And He didn’t just create us randomly, He said, “Let us make man in our image”. So if we are made in His image, we have Him imprinted in our DNA. We cannot remove ourselves from it. Even those who thought they were beyond redemption, beyond help, have some Love DNA still inside. Sure, it’s been crusted over with pain, sin, bitterness, even a lifetime of being hurt and abused and living wrong -- BUT God wants to reach in with HIS LOVE, and wipe away all that, bringing restoration back to His true intentions for mankind, for you.
If we are made in His image, and the Bible says “He is Love”, then we could say, “WE ARE LOVE”. Sure, we don’t always look like that and don’t ‘feel’ like it, but it’s in there, it’s in our DNA. As we think on His Love being in us and ask Him to show it to us, it begins to rise up and push out all the hurts and un-lovely things about us. As His Love grows stronger in us we begin releasing the pain of the past. The more we choose to learn of His Love and allow His Love to saturate us, the less those things control us and the more His Love directs us. We begin to do things differently, to become more like Him, seeing ourselves through His Love, and then seeing others through His Love. OH, to LIVE in His Love daily! What a privilege, what an absolute, unbelievable, alllll-fullfilling, beyond-belief, abiding JOY! Hunger for revelation of His Love!
Oh, Father, consume us with Your Love!
